About
Growing up as a kid my father was a singer in a 80's metal band, my uncle played rhythm guitar, so between the two of them I always wanted to be around when they were practicing.
I was always interested in music and art, I assume that has something to do with being surrounded by it all my life.
At 9 years old I picked up a guitar and taught my self how to play. I would be in my room for hours after school trying my hardest to learn songs and different chords. Then started being really interested in art, art class always caught my attention. So picked up drawing and absolutely loved it! I would draw portraits, cars, landscape etc.
In my junior year of high school, my father told me about this art school in Flagstaff, AZ. The school focused on your musical or art based talents and allowed you to do your required studies online so that your main focus was towards "said specific art".
Though I was there for musical interest, the school opened up my eyes to different types of photography as well. So after attending there during high school I decided to go to college for photography and music. After my first class, I was so stoked about photography that I immediately went out and bought my first film camera. It was a lot of information at first, but I was so driven to learn that I pushed my self till it turned into a deep passion of mine.
In 2009 I started up a band, and my roommate at the time was dating this guy Barry Gossage. She told me he was a professional photographer, so I figured I'd ask him if he would be interested in taking pictures of us. Ever since that day we hit it off and became really close friends. Then one day we were hanging out and he asked me to take a picture of him and his daughter on his phone, when I gave him back the phone to observe the photo he said, "nice framing! its like you've done this before." and I said, "actually, photography is something I've always been interested in." After a while, I started assisting him in setups, lighting, and photo shoots. I was learning the ropes and it was definitely something I wanted to do full time.I received a phone call from Barry, telling me that the position to be his "right hand man" for the Suns is open! I then interned for a year and got my first NBA contract. I've now been with the NBA and Barry for 10 years and still have the love and passion for photography that I started with.
